Still White | 100% Pinot Gris | Tamar Valley, Tasmania

Grown on the Folly Block of our single vineyard in the Tamar Valley, this is a textured, mineral-driven Pinot Gris with a distinctly savoury edge. Fresh and precise, it brings together ripe orchard fruit, sea-spray freshness and a stony mineral character, it’s a wine with plenty of texture and clarity that is made to be enjoyed with food.

Appearance

Pale straw with a bright, clear appearance.

 

Aroma

Poached pear, lemon and peach sit alongside crushed stone, meadow herbs, almond meal, sea spray and delicate white flowers, with a subtle creamy note adding texture and complexity.

 

Palate

Super fresh and mineral-driven, with bright acidity and a beautiful combination of ripe fruit, stony minerality and savoury character. Textural and focused through the palate, finishing long and clean with a distinctly stony, savoury end point.

 

Style

Fresh, textured and mineral-driven, with a briny, savoury character that sets it apart from a more fruit-forward style of Pinot Gris.

Tasting Notes

Appearance
Deep ruby red in the glass.

Aroma
Wild strawberry, plum and red cherry lead into darker, more savoury notes of spice, crushed herbs and earthy forest floor. A subtle mineral character adds complexity.

Palate
Ripe plum and strawberry bring generous fruit to the palate, balanced by bright, crunchy acidity and fine, powdery tannins. Savoury and earthy notes add depth, with plenty of classic Pinot Noir character and a fresh, persistent finish.

Style
A generous yet finely structured cool-climate Pinot Noir, balancing vibrant red and dark fruit with savoury complexity, fresh acidity and fine tannins.

2024 The People’s Share Pinot Noir — 93 Halliday Points

The 2024 vintage was awarded 93 points by Halliday Wine Companion. Halliday described it as a deep ruby Pinot Noir with wild strawberry, plum and red cherry, alongside dark spice, game, crushed herbs, leaf litter and pomegranate. On the palate, ripe plum and strawberry were balanced by crunchy acidity and powdery tannins.

The result is a wine with plenty of classic Pinot Noir character, while retaining the freshness and savoury complexity of its Tamar Valley origins.

A fresh, delicate rosé made from estate-grown Pinot Noir from our single vineyard in the Tamar Valley. Pale in colour and easy to enjoy, it balances ripe summer fruit with a light mineral character and bright, refreshing acidity and dry on the palate.

Winemaking

Made from a late pick estate-grown Pinot Noir from Highclare Estate. The fruit is given a short period of skin contact to achieve its delicate rosé colour before being gently pressed and made to preserve the freshness and purity of the fruit.
