Our goal is to make wine tasting feel welcoming, not intimidating.

At Highclare Wine Room, every tasting is guided by our team and centred around conversation, stories and great wine. You’ll discover how every bottle begins on our family vineyard in Hillwood before learning about the people, seasons and craftsmanship behind each vintage.

Whether you’re completely new to wine or already love cool-climate Pinot Noir and Tasmanian sparkling wine, our tastings are designed to be relaxed, personal and memorable.

The Tamar Valley is one of Australia’s most celebrated cool-climate wine regions, but you don’t need to leave Launceston to experience it.

As a Tamar Valley cellar door, Highclare Wine Room brings estate-grown wines from our vineyard directly to the heart of the city.

Located opposite City Park, we’re just a short walk from hotels, restaurants and many of Launceston’s most popular attractions, making us an easy addition to any itinerary.

Every wine we pour is grown on our own vineyard in Hillwood.

Growing every grape ourselves gives us complete control over quality and allows every vintage to express the unique conditions of our site in the Tamar Valley.

From vineyard to bottle, and finally to your glass in Launceston, every part of the journey is unmistakably Highclare Estate.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Visited the Wine Room with my husband for a tasting and a bite to eat. Matt was a great host - friendly and informative. The wines were delicious and the nibbles were very tasty. Conveniently located across the road from the City Park. We recommend you drop in!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Highclare after spending some time in City Park. Curious about the new wine room, I wandered over with a couple of friends and was warmly greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable gentleman who helped us choose a bottle of bubbles along with a delicious cheese, meat and biscuit pack. As it was such a magnificent day, we opted for takeaway so we could enjoy everything in City Park. They had truly thought of everything — plastic glasses, knives and serviettes were all included — making the experience effortless and delightful. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend Highclare to anyone looking for a beautiful wine experience.
